This first picture is Robert Downey Jr –Robert, please forgive me if that is not the correct spelling. Now, take a look at this beard. It’s not too scruffy, and it’s obvious that that isn’t the look he is going for. It connects around the edges, but at the same time, it leaves a little bit to the imagination.

Notice the discreet seperation in the middle of the mustache; also take note of the hourglass shape of the lower portion. Robert certainly knows how to wear a beard. Honestly, when you consider Robert’s appearance in the Iron Man movies, you kind of have to accept anything he wears.

Now, let’s move on to our good friend Leo. As men, we’re constantly scouting other males to check their Alpha levels. It’s fairly easy to check the Alpha level, but you have to have experience and practice. Here we have a picture of Leo, and he is sporting something for his unique facial structure.

The great about Leo is that he’s always on point. This man knows how to look good, and it’s almost like he was born with the ability. There is a good chance that he came out of the womb with a fully-groomed beard.

What Makes Celebrity Beards Look So Good?

This is actually a common question. Maybe you’ve even asked yourself this question. Us ‘average’ males — we can’t seem to pull off the flawless beard styles that celebrities wear. When we compare our freshly-groomed beard to theirs in a mirror, it almost looks like a lawn mower ran ours over.

The truth is that most celebrities have professionals who trim and sculpt their beard, so if you have enough money, you can constantly wear a flawless beard as well. That is the missing element.

Most of us average males haven’t gone to beaty school, and we have little experience sculpting flawless beards. Although most of us won’t ever wear the flawless beards that celebrities sport, with enough practice and the right knowledge, we can certainly come close. If you’ve been searching for a new beard style, hopefully one of these will be suitable for you.

However, if you want the perfect shave, then you need to put a little bit more effort into it. With the right bits of information, you will be on your way to achieving the best shave that is possible!

Timing Is Crucial

I know – I get it; as men, we want to get through our shave as quickly as possible, but that is not the best way to get a great shave. Trust me when I say that rushing will lead to some pretty mean facial abuse that you don’t want to deal with.

What you need to do first is prepare your skin for the shave. Much like you might prepare your girl before you….it’s important to prepare your skin for what it’s about to go through. You know skin has feeling too, right? You should start by giving your face a quick wash. I recommend a decent facial cleanser because it will soften the protein inside of your hair follicles.

That little bit of advice actually comes from a medical doctor – so use it! Harsh soaps will completely wash away the natural oils that soften your hair. Before you rinse it off, you want to leave the cleanser on your face for about one minute. Next, go ahead and lather your face with some shaving gel or cream. It really doesn’t matter what type of product you use, but it should be something that is meant for sensitive skin.

Make sure you let the shaving cream or gel sit on your face for at least two minutes, but it’s best to leave it on for three. Brush your teeth or comb your hair while you wait – if you want. The reason why you want to leave the shaving cream on for so long is because it really helps to soften the hair, which will make it possible for you to obtain a one-pass cut.

Brushing It Up

You should avoid relying on nothing but your fingers to lather your shaving gel. I recommend you get a brush and actually use it. A decent brush will force the cream into the hair follicles, which will lead to a much better shave.

The pros like to use a badger brush because it’s perfect for lifting hairs and soaking them in cream. I don’t think you really need to worry about using multi-blade razors. A lot of guys are pretty strict about this, but you can get away with using a single blade.

Hurry – grab your seat belt because this is going to be a wild ride! Today’s review is for the Wahl Trimmer All-In-One Lithium Ion. Yeah, I know – another ‘lithium-powered’ beast. Before you get all excited and run off to buy this product, you should know it’s about double the price of the ‘cheaper’ trimmers. Is it really worth it? Let’s find out. We’ll start by covering the basic features.

• Comes with Spanish and English instructions, so if you happen to speak two languages and enjoy Pina Coladas, you’re in luck!
• Is rechargeable, so this makes it a much better product than all of other trimmers out there, LOL.
• Comes with ear, brow and nose trimmer; three beard guides; T-blade-trimmer that comes with three different guide combs; dual-foil shaver. You really have to just look at the picture to see what all of this stuff is.
• Can use five-minute quick charge or 1-hour full charge. Not sure what this means – we’ll have to come back to it.
• Get ready guys – we’re about to find out why manufacturers are crapping their pants about this new lithium-ion technology stuff. From what I understand, a lithium-ion battery is capable of holding an electrical charge for 10x longer than traditional batteries. Lithium-ion also provides twice as much torque and 3x the run time as regular batteries. Honestly, it’s nice that the little scientist guys are improving the technology, but I really don’t care about all of these ‘improvements’. I just need a trimmer that works when I need it and works well. I don’t care how long it can hold a charge or how much torque it has, unless it negatively impacts my trimming experience.

Now that all of the basic features are covered, I just wanted to inform you that you even get a nice little comb with this package. Who ever said the manufacturers don’t give freebies? Rejoice, my long-haired gorillas – you now have a spiffy little comb to style your hair in a way that will have the ladies falling over each other to get to you.

From what I understand, this trimmer is the world’s first GROOMING device to feature lithium-ion technology (golf clap). One of this trimmer’s selling points is that it’s lighter than previous models, but honestly, I’m a man, so I like heavy stuff. My experience has been that, aside from REALLY OLD products, LOL, the heavier a product is the more durable and better it performs.

Wahl also says that this trimmer “has no memory issues”, which is great because the last thing I want is for my trimmer to have more memory issues than ME! Yes, the lithium-ion technology does give this trimmer an advantage over other models, but in my opinion, not a significant one. This trimmer is environmentally friendly because it “doesn’t use energy after it is done charging and plugged in.”

LOL, I really don’t care if my trimmer is using a few extra cents of electricity per month, so nothing special about this ‘environmentally-friendly technology’. Let’s go ahead and finish this up. With this trimmer, you can clip, shave, detail and trim.

You get a clipper blade, dual shaver, precision detailer and trimmer blade. Maybe I’m just mentally-challenged, but I never have any luck with the ‘dual-shaver’ or foil blades.

My Conclusion

So, what’s my final conclusion? I think this trimmer costs more than the cheaper models because it has the “ultra-amazing lithium-ion technology.” It’s attachments aren’t much different from what the cheaper models have to offer.

Unfortunately, this product has quite a few 1-star reviews, but it also has a significant amount of 4 and 5-star reviews. I think most of the bad reviews are the result of specific attachments not fitting the needs of many of the reviewers. As usual, Wahl makes trimmers that have powerful motors – LOL, you can actually FEEL the power in the palm of your hand.

So, here we have a product from Remington. I’m not a huge fan of this brand but not because they suck or something – I just don’t have a long relationship with them. Quickly, let’s take a look at the basic features.

• Has 9 different length settings, which is particularly useful for you cavemen out there. Remember, it’s so easy a caveman can do it!
• Has a whopping three precision-ground blades. I’m not really sure what that means – but it sounds good. What, you were hoping for 10 blades?
• Supposedly, has 120 minutes of manscaping power. That’s useful.
• Blades are coated with titanium. This should make the blades last longer.
• Last but not least, drum roll please, Lithium-ion powered! Suddenly, I’m getting a few flashbacks of the Duracell commercials. Who the hell cares if it is lithium-ion powered – I know I don’t. I have a feeling that’s just a way to make it seem cooler, LOL. Who knows?

Now that I’ve covered the basic features, let me ramble on in a boring way about the SECRET features – you know, the ones that will have the girls flocking to you like you’re the last piece of chicken in the bucket. Just kidding, but I do want to highlight a few other selling points.

This beard and mustache trimmer has a few length settings, 9 to be exact, so you can really get that ‘perfect look’. It has a washable, ergonomic design, rechargeable battery and enough sleekness to make you worship it. Really, though, this thing IS SLEEK. Don’t take my word for it – look at the picture.

If you took my Norelco and this Remington trimmer and put them in sleekness contest, the Remington would walk all over the Norelco. Shameless manufacturer plugs aside, (sorry Norelco, LOL), this trimmer is great. This trimmer also has three specialized attachments, so you can annihilate even the most-stubborn facial hair. Two-year warranty means Remington really stands by this product.

The attachable heads let you choose between stubble, goatee or beard trimming. When Remington says this trimmer’s motor is powerful, I believe it. However, I still think Wahl trimmers have stronger motors overall, but if you frequently trim the hairs on your nuts and GET TOO CLOSE, it’s nice to have a weaker motor – if you know what I mean.

To recap, upon purchase, you will get the Remington MB4040 itself, a stubble attachment, goatee attachment, beard attachment, a manual and the charger. From what I understand, this trimmer cannot be used while plugged in. That’s the only thing I don’t really like, which is different from the Norelco BG2040 BodyGroom.

After checking the reviews on many top consumer portals, this trimmer has an overwhelming number of four and five-star reviews. The good-to-bad review ratio greatly favors GOOD REVIEWS. Once again, I’m sure the negative reviews are mostly guys who just happened to end up with one of the bad apples of the product bunch or have enough time to go complain about a $30 trimmer.

I will say that Remington products don’t always provide a trim that is close-enough for some people, so if you prefer the closest-‘buzz’ possible, then I would go with Wahl trimmer that is in the same price range. You can buy this bad boy right here.

As mentioned in similar articles, your hair’s growth rate is determined by your genetics, and unfortunately, everyone is bound by their own genetics. It would be wrong to say that hair growth is never influenced by anything but genetics. Even when trying to grow your hair longer, it’s important to get regular trims.

Although some hairdressers might say it makes hair grow growth faster, the real purpose of regular hair trimming is to keep hair healthy. So, in conclusion, trim your hair regularly but don’t expect your hair to grow faster as a result.

The average male is not going to be able to make the hair on their face grow any faster than it currently grows. Yes, it’s true that some men are able to grow this type of hair much more quickly than others, and it all comes down to genetics. Much like building muscle, your unique genetics will determine how quickly you can sprout a sophisticated beard. Regardless of what anyone tells you, there is really no way to speed up your own hair-growing genetics.

Although it might seem like there are tricks or special substances that will speed up the process, the reality of the situation is that when you see stuff like that, it is ALMOST ALWAYS someone trying to sell you something. Don’t fall for the gimmicks. As for me, unfortunately, I’m not one of those guys who are remarkably sexy with facial hair. As a matter of fact, I look FAR BETTER without ANY hair on my face than I do with it.

Yeah, the fact that I will probably never look good with facial hair can be depressing, but I’m not losing any sleep over it. Like everything else in life, you have to figure out how to play the cards life deals you. Rather than trying to grow your facial hair faster, find out your genetic hair-growth rate and try to plan events and whatnot around that growth rate, so when it comes down to it, you won’t actually need to speed the process up.

The short answer is yes, you can, in fact, cut the hair on your head with a beard trimmer attachment. The problem is that I wouldn’t recommend doing so. Even a basic, cheap trimmer should come with an attachment that is meant to be used to trim your facial hair or beard.

However, even a basic trimmer should also come with an attachment to cut your hair. If you’re asking this question, then I have to assume that your trimmer didn’t come with the attachment that is needed to cut your regular hair, which is why you’re wondering if it’s possible to just use the beard-trimming attachment.

Although it’s certainly possible, the major downside of using the wrong attachment to trim the hair on your head is the fact that it’s very small. You’ll find that a haircutting piece is nearly twice the size of the beard-trimming piece, and if you have a lot of hair to cut, the smaller size can be a problem.

In the end, you’ll wind up using more effort to do a haircut when using the beard-trimmer attachment. I recommend simply purchasing a product that comes with a variety of attachments; more specifically, spend some decent money on an all-in-one grooming system.

However, if you’d just prefer to use the beard-trimming attachment to trim hair, you can certainly do that, and you shouldn’t run into any problems.

Before we get into this, I want you to know that I have extensive experience with trimmers and products from Phillips. I can honestly recommend products from this brand.

I still use my little Norelco G370 all-in-one groomer that I got from Fred Meyers for about $20. Let’s dive right in and see what basic features this multi-groom system has to offer.

• Can be used with or without cord; I can’t stress how convenient this is. My Norelco G370 cannot be used while it’s plugged in, which means it can only be used on battery charge, and at times, that’s a huge inconvenience for me. This trimmer can apparently run for 50 minutes after being charge for 60. Compared with my G370, that’s really remarkable, LOL. Really. My Norelco only runs for like 5 minutes per 60 minutes of charging.
• Is Water resistant. Here’s a great advantage. Apparently this makes the trimmer easier to clean. A water-resistant trimmer is certainly nothing new, so I can’t complain.
• 7 different attachments, which are meant for both head and face trimming. You get a stubble comb, mustache and beard comb, min-foil shaver, nose trimmer, detail trimmer, full-metal guard trimmer and hair clipper. How can a man go wrong with a stubble comb? Because, you know how much I love to comb my hair stubble. No offense to the manufacturers, but I think it’s hilarious how they all throw in the little combs. Whatever it takes to make you think you’re getting more for less, right? Honestly, though, back when I had long, girly hair, the combs would have been VERY useful, LOL. As a matter of fact, I probably bought at least 100 combs while on the job when I used to work retail. I would lose the comb I bought the day before and needed to look good for the ladies, so I’d just buy a new one at least once a week. Sad – I know.
• Just a side note – it seems a lot of guys buy a precision trimmer with the Philips Norelco QG336/42. I guess you got to trim the uni-brow sometime, right?

Now that the basic features are covered, let’s look at what else is important. This trimmer gives you 18 different length settings, so you shouldn’t have a problem getting the look that you want.

Something unique that I noticed about this trimmer is the fact that it has a ‘Turbo-Boost feature’, which is great for you gorillas out there who have thick, stubborn hair. However, a little word of caution – don’t use the Turbo feature when manscaping ‘certain’ areas, which will help you to avoid serious injury, LOL.

This trimmer from Phillips can do almost anything. It seriously has an attachment to accomplish almost anything. Now, if only the Turbo-Boost feature would work on my car. Oh well. The Philips Norelco QG3360/42 is almost twice the price of the cheaper models – I don’t really know what additional awesomeness you’re getting for the increased price.

I guess you’re getting a few extra features, such as the Turbo Boost, storage pouch (got to have this!), body-grooming attachment, body-trimming attachment and, of course, the comb! LOL.

My Shocking Conclusion

Heck, I’d pay for it just to get the comb and body-grooming shaver. However, it’s up to YOU. Oops, I almost forgot to tell you that this product has great reviews, and so does the Wahl 79300-400.

• Has a soft-touch grip. I have to admit I’m a big fan of the soft-touch grip – it really dopes improve control and comfort. I find that with no grip, my Norelco trimmer is quick to slide out of my hands like a wet bar of soap.
• Great for total-body and head grooming. No, fellas, it’s not referring to that head. Well, if you had hair growing there then you’d have to be one of those freak werewolf-brothers, LOL. Honesty, there’s nothing quite like a cheap beard and mustache trimmer that can also be used for a full-body groom. Although my sisters and mother make jokes about me not being ‘straight’, I can assure you that even the straightest guys need a full-body manscaping session. Besides, studies show that MOST women prefer a man with minimal ‘body’ hair.

So, what do I like about this product? Well, it comes with a snazzy case. Who doesn’t want that, LOL? It’s something to make the wife or girlfriend jealous. Listen, if you want to give yourself or others a decent, at-home haircut, for the price you just can’t beat this set.

If you think you’re going to get truly professional hairstyling from this set, think again. I’ll just end this review by saying that Wahl is basically the king of ‘strong motors’.
